Feature Updates and Enhancements (Sportzcast)

Q3 2024

Below is a description of all updates Genius Sports made to its Sportzcast products in Q2 2024.

1. Disable Automatic Software Updates

Description: Added button and created endpoint to disable automatic software updates for ScoreLink+.

Benefits: Users can now manage software updates independently, ensuring stability during critical periods by deactivating automatic updates. This allows updates at preferred times, reducing unexpected downtime.

2. Disable Automatic Wi-Fi Access Point

Description: Added button to enable/disable automatic Wi-Fi access point in ScoreLink+.

Benefits: By using the SL+ Access Point, customers avoid reconfiguring Wi-Fi settings, streamlining workflow. ScoreLink+ no longer auto-activates its Access Point after 1 minute of no connectivity, reducing disruptions for users with intermittent Wi-Fi access.

3. Decoders - Eversan Support through USB for Linux Systems

Description: Added support for Eversan decoders through USB on Linux systems.

Benefits: Expands compatibility to include Eversan decoders on Linux.Provides more flexibility and options for users on Linux systems.

4. ScoreConnectIII Reset Settings

Description: A new feature has been added to ScoreConnectIII allowing users to reset settings to default configurations easily.

Benefits: This simplifies the process of restoring default settings, helps quickly resolve configuration issues, and nhances user experience by providing an easy reset option.

5. ScoreConnect III / Scorelink+ Enhanced Logs Clarity

Description: The logging capabilities in ScoreConnect III and Scorelink+ have been enhanced to provide clearer and more detailed logs for better tracking and troubleshooting.

Benefits: Enhanced clarity in logs for better data interpretation. Improved ability to diagnose and resolve issues quicker.

6. Stramatel BE04030 Basketball and Hockey Decoders 

Description: ScoreLink support for Stramatel BE04030 Basketball and Hockey scoreboard controllers.  

Benefits: Broaden sports data collection and broadcasting capabilities with added scoreboard controller support.

7. Stramatel MultiSport 452 Hockey 

Description: ScoreLink support for Stramatel MultiSport 452 Hockey scoreboard controllers. 

Benefits: Broaden sports data collection and broadcasting capabilities with added scoreboard controller support.

8. Nautronic NG12 basketball decoder update for team fouls 

Description: ScoreLink decoder for Nautronic NG12 basketball  scoreboard controllers now supports team fouls. 

Benefits: ScoreLink can now track team fouls directly through the decoder, simplifying the process of foul management with automated tracking, enhancing the overall efficiency of game operations.

Q2 2024

Below is a description of all updates Genius Sports made to its Sportzcast products in Q2 2024.

1. Scorelink Firmware Updates 

Description: Fixed the problems with the current firmware process for both ScoreLinkII and ScoreLink+. 

Benefits: Improved reliability by reducing the time of the process to the minimum and confirmation for each step. 

Release date: June 17th 

2. Fairplay Autodetect 

Description: We've enhanced the Fairplay setup process in our ScoreLink+ platform. The new Autodetect feature now utilizes the first byte of Fairplay packets to streamline configuration, making the initial setup quicker and more intuitive. 

Benefits: Automatically detects Fairplay settings, reducing manual setup steps and potential configuration errors. 

Release date: June 3rd 

3. Implemented Home and Visitor Swap Functionality 

Description: Allows ScoreLink users to permanently swap all home and visitor related data on scoreboards, addressing the specific needs of venues where fan seating and team positions are not consistently aligned with the scoreboard's default settings. 

Benefits: This feature will provide a more intuitive and accurate display of game scores and information, reflecting the actual positioning of teams relative to the spectators' seating arrangements. It will enhance user experience and accuracy during live events.

4. Eversan Model 9364 Football 

Description: We are thrilled to have the latest addition to our decoder lineup, supporting the Eversan Model 9364 for Football and Soccer. These new configurations are specifically designed to decode signals from the Eversan Model 9364, seamlessly integrating with our systems. 

Benefits: Broaden sports data collection and broadcasting capabilities with added scoreboard controller support.

5. Daktronics Pitch Clock Baseball Decoder 

Description: ScoreLink now has support of this data point “Pitch Clock” for Daktronics Baseball scoreboard controllers. Available for ScoreLinkII + ScoreLink+. 

Benefits: Broaden Baseball data collection and broadcasting capabilities with added support for Pitch Clock.

6. Eversan Hockey, Basketball and Football Wireless Decoders 

Description: We are excited to announce the addition of support for Eversan Wireless controllers in our latest software updates for ScoreLinkII and ScoreLink+. Users can now connect and configure Eversan Hockey, Basketball, and Football decoders seamlessly with our ScoreLink systems. 

Benefits: Broaden sports data collection and broadcasting capabilities with added support for multiple sports.

7. ScoreConnectIII Configuration Screen 

Description: We've revamped the user interface on the ScoreConnectIII configuration screen to streamline your setup process. The new layout simplifies the workflow, allowing you to effortlessly find bots, select a vendor sport, and configure hardware settings with greater ease. This update ensures a smoother, more intuitive interaction with our system. 

Benefits: Quickly locate and configure the necessary settings without navigating through complex menus.
